Rohinie Bisesar arrested in random Shoppers Drug Mart stabbing

Rohinie Bisesar, the woman sought in whatpolice callan unprovoked stabbing in Toronto'sfinancial district, has been arrested.

The 40-year-old woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon and charged withattempted murder, aggravated assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

Bisesar allegedly stabbed a woman inside a downtown Shoppers Drug Mart on Friday shortly before 3 p.m., police say. The woman sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in grave condition.

Police described the incident as a "completely unprovoked attack," adding that Bisesar was not previously known to them.There is no indication the victim and suspect knew each other, police said.

Ties to financial district

Police had previouslysaid the suspect has "some ties to the financial district."

A lengthyLinkedIn profile that appears to belong to Bisesar says she worked in several capacities at York University between 1999 and 2007, including roles as a systems administrator and technical information analyst.

A spokesperson for York University confirmed that Bisesarreceived a Bachelor of Administrative Studiesin 2004 and a Masters of Business Administration in 2007 at the university but did not provide further comment.

Former colleague and York University associate professor Georges Monette described Bisesar as "superb both for the outstanding quality of her work and for her warmth and interpersonal skills," in a LinkedIn recommendation.

Monette confirmed to CBC News that he knew Bisesarand those were his words, but he declined to comment further.

Bisesar is due to appear at the College Park courthouse Wednesday morning.
