Star Wars super-marathon kicks off with force

Even Star Wars superfans may need to call upon the force to make it through this marathon. Fans flooded into Toronto's Scotiabank Theatre this morning for a special 17-hour screening of the iconic series, ending with the latest instalment, The Force Awakens.

Fans of the iconic series have been counting the minutes until they can watch the seventh Star Wars instalmenton the silver screen.

Star Wars:The Force Awakens is expected to shatter box office records when it hits theatres on Friday. Until then, some diehard fansare reliving the moments leading up to the release, with a 17-hour marathon of the entire series.

Viewers only get 10 minutes between episodes to reload on popcorn or go for a quick bathroom break.

Fans flooded intoScotiabankTheatre starting at 4 a.m. ET.

"For Star Wars, nothing can be too early," franchise fanJim Taggart toldCBC News at the screening. "Star Wars is life."

Many superfans showed up decked out in Darth Vader and Princess Leiacostumes, showing true dedication. Others, showed up with lightsabers, likely prepared to battle for the best seats.
