Fatal hit and run deemed a homicide

Homicide police areinvestigating a fatalhit and run that occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Toronto.

Christopher Skinner, 27, got into an altercation with the occupants of a black SUVnear Adelaide Street East and Victoria Street around 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Skinnerfought with the occupants and was knocked to the ground, they say. It is not immediately known how many people were in the SUV, or how many fought with Skinner.

The occupants returned to their vehicleand ran over Skinner, police said. The SUV then took off eastbound on Adelaide Street, they said.

Skinner was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died later. Police are asking for the public's help in finding the suspects.
