Suspect in assault of Muslim women on TTC ID'd as minor

Toronto police have identified one of the suspects in the assault of Muslim women on the TTC as a minor.

Toronto police have identifiedone of thesuspectsin the assault and harassment of two Muslim women on a subway train Wednesday night as a minor.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

TTC spokesman Brad Ross earlier condemned the incident, which took place at Sherbourne station.

Two men and a woman boarded a train and proceeded to make racist comments about the two Muslim women, including an implication that they could be terrorists, Rosssaid.

The woman allegedly also pushed one of them,Ross said.

A witness on the train activated the emergency alarm and Toronto police officers and TTC special constables responded to the scene. The offenders, however, fled.
