Tornado watches and warnings end in southern Ontario

A series of tornado warnings and watches have ended in southern Ontario.

A series of tornado warnings and watches have ended in southern Ontario.

Starting in the mid-afternoon, a series of warnings and watches were issued for parts of the Greater Toronto Area, as well as areas in cottage country.

The tornado warnings were ended early on Tuesday evening. The watches were called off shortly before 7:30 p.m.

The OPP is reporting that some 20-plus homes were damaged in Angus, Ont., as a result of the severe weather that had moved through the region on Tuesday.

Pictures on social media show damage to the walls and roofs of homes.

Toronto has not seen tornado watches or warnings on Tuesday. However, Toronto Hydro reported weather-related power outages affecting some 4,400 customers, as of about 7 p.m.
