Guns, drugs seized by police in series of raids across GTA

Police arrested nine people and seized guns, drugs and cashwhile executing search warrants in Toronto and Vaughanon Thursday.

Police seizedtwo 9-mm automatic submachine guns,anM84 submachine gun, two.45-calibre pistols, a.40-calibre pistol,andnumerous rounds of ammunition.

Also seized were1.5 kilogramsof cocaine, 1.8 kilogramsof heroin,1.3 kilogramsof marijuana,1.1 kilograms of MDMA, onekilogram of methamphetamine, fivekilogramsof hashish and 0.5 kilogramsof ecstasy, police said.

Police did not say how much cash was seized or how many locations were raided.The raids were part of an investigation led by the Toronto Police Service'sIntegrated Gun and Gang Task Force.

Police arrestedBuuGiang, 39,ThangMach,44,ManhNguyen, 28, andChieuPham, 41, of Toronto, as well asTin Lieu, 30,MichaelTrinh, 38, andWayneTrinh, 39, of Vaughan, according to a statementissued Friday.

All nine weredue in court at Old City Hall on Friday. Toronto police would not comment on what charges they face.
