Toronto removes inappropriate 'Goon' posters

Toronto has removed 38 posters for the hockey comedy Goon, deeming them as inappropriate, according to Alliance Films.

In a release from Alliance Films, it said the City of Toronto demanded the removal of the posters featuring Jay Baruchel, the writer and star of the film, making a gesture the "city believes is inappropriate".

The posters had been up for two weeks and were removed Wednesday the day of the red-carpet premiere in Toronto.

"I question whether this has to do with Jay's tongue or his ability to burn Maple Leafs' jerseys, neither of which are offensive in any way," Goon director Mike Dowse said in the statement.

The Winnipeg-shot film is about a bouncer who fights his way onto a local hockey team.
