Toronto's Indigenous Arts Festival and Na-Me-Res Powwow

Celebrate National Indigenous History Month with CBC Toronto at the Indigenous Arts Festival and Na-Me-Res Powwow.

Held on the weekend of June 15 and 16 in the heart of Toronto at Fort York, this free, family-friendly event is proudly sponsored by CBC Toronto.

What to expect

On Saturday, June 15 from noon to 5 p.m., experience the excitement of a traditional powwow hosted by Na-Me-Res.

The powwow celebrates the heritage, resilience and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Metis cultures across Tkaronto (Toronto) and Canada.

From 5:30 to 10 p.m., enjoy the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nations Indigenous Arts Festival live concert featuring contemporary and traditional Indigenous musical performers.

On Sunday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Indigenous Arts Festival celebrations continue with a full day of live music and dance performances showcasing some of Canada's most renowned Indigenous talent.

Throughout the weekend, you can also explore the artisan and food market stalls, which feature authentic handmade artwork alongside delicious Indigenous dishes.
