TTC bus runs red light in Mimico

Drivers and pedestrians at an intersection in Mimico were startled when a TTC bus blew through a red light.

The light was red for more than 10 seconds before the bus, on the 501 Long Branch route, drove through to a chorus of blaring horns, nearly hitting a crossing walker.

The incident at Lake Shore Boulevard West and Superior Avenueoccurred earlier this month, was captured on the dashboard camera of another vehicle, and posted to YouTube.

The TTC says it took "immediate" action against the bus driver.

A similar incident was captured on camera in July when a bus narrowly missed a pedestrian after running a red light at Eglinton Avenue at Ionview Road in Scarborough.
