A closer look at the numbers as incumbents rule Sarnia, Chatham and Windsor

CBC narrows in on the numbers from Thursday night's provincial election. Voter turnout was much higher in rural southwest ridings compared to Windsor.

As you have probably heard by now, there were no changes in power across all six provincial ridings covering Sarnia, Chatham and Windsor. That said, some of the numbers may or may not surprise you here's the official breakdown.

How exactly did the candidates do?

SarniaLambton

  • Bob Bailey (PC) 53% [margin: 7,806]
  • Kathy Alexander (NDP) 37%
  • Neil Wereley (Lib) 4%

LambtonKentMiddlesex

  • Monte McNaughton (PC) 55% [margin: 11,086]
  • Todd Case (NDP) 33%
  • Mike Radan (Lib) 6%

ChathamKentLeamington

  • Rick Nicholls (PC) 52% [margin: 7,512]
  • Jordan McGrail (NDP) 36%
  • Margaret Schleier Stahl (Lib) 8%

Essex

  • Taras Natyshak (NDP) 49% [margin: 3,323]
  • Chris Lewis (PC) 42%
  • Kate Festeryga (Lib) 6%

Windsor-Tecumseh

  • Percy Hatfield (NDP) 58% [margin: 13,546]
  • Mohammed Latif (PC) 27%
  • Remy Boulbol (Lib) 8%

Windsor West

  • Lisa Gretzky (NDP) 52% [margin: 9,203]
  • Adam Ibrahim (PC) 28%
  • Rino Bortolin (Lib) 15%

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex 62%

Chatham-Kent-Leamington 58%

Essex 58%

Windsor-Tecumseh 48%

Windsor West 44%

2014 margins and order

Bob Bailey 1,996; Monte McNaughton 8,550; Rick Nicholls 2,519; Natyshak 17,947; Hatfield 17,221; Gretzky 1,022 Liberals were 2nd in Windsor-Tecumseh and Windsor West in 2014; other ridings had exact same order of finish
