Windsor resident dies of injuries after fire in Walkerville

A man has died of his injuries following a fire in Walkerville on Wednesday.

Windsor fire officialssaid the resident was rescued and taken to hospital in Hamiltonin critical condition. The man succumbed to his injuries Wednesday night.

Investigators said the fire, in the 900 block of Moy Avenue, was accidental, caused by careless smoking in the living room.

Roughly $150,000 in damage was caused due to the blaze.

A second person was treated for smoke inhalation and released from hospital.

The Ontario Fire Marshal's Office is also investigating.
