A pink city bus will be making its way through Windsor's streets for the next year, as part of a breast cancer fundraising camping launched by Transit Windsor and Street Seen Media Thursday.

Mayor Drew Dilkens was there to unveil the 40-foot bus wrapped in pink.

"I think everyone in the community knows someone, if it's a loved one, a friend, a neighbour or a relative, someone that they know that's been impacted by cancer in some form," said Dilkens. "The beauty of this program is all of the money stays locally, so it really is a community helping a community get through a real terrible disease."

The International Dragon Boat campaign will receive the money raised through individual and corporate ribbons placed on the side of the bus.

Transit Windsor General Manager Penny Williams is a cancer survivor.

"It really means a lot to me personally,"said Williams. "I'm a 23 year cancer survivor and I'm here to tell people that you can beat this disease, but we still need a lot more work to be done and we hope that you will be able to support it."

Williams presented a cheque and placed the first ribbon on the bus.

People can dedicate a ribbon that will be placed on the bus to someone who is battling cancer, a survivor or someone who has passed away.
