Snowfall warning issued for Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent

Environment Canada is warning people in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent to brace for a snowstorm that could drop up to 20 cm of snow Friday.

Environment Canada is warning people in Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent to bracefor a snowstorm that could drop up to 20cm of snow Friday.

The weather agencyupgraded its special weather statement to a snowfall warning Thursday.

"Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow," read the statement. "There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas"

The snowfall is expected to become lighter by Friday night.
