Supermoon, eclipse shots from Windsor-Essex

The supermoon did not go unnoticed in Windsor-Essex last night.

Anyone taking a peek at social media today will see pictures of the striking local images captured in the region.

But there was an extra treat in store for stargazers the supermoon was coinciding with a total lunar eclipse.

And while there are many pictures to look at, anyone who missed seeing it in real life will have to wait a while to see another similar event.

The Canadian Press reports that thenext total lunar eclipse won't occur until 2018. And the next one involving a supermoon isn't going to happen until 2033.
