Vancouver Canucks sign goaltender Michael DiPietro to entry-level deal

DiPietro is coming off his third season with the OHLs Windsor Spitfires, earning Goaltender of the Year honours.

He just completed his third season with the Windsor Spitfires, posting a .910 save percentage

Michael DiPietro has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

DiPietro is coming off his third season with the OHL's Windsor Spitfires, earning Goaltender of the Year honours. Healso holds the single-season franchise record for shutouts with seven.

The Amherstburg native backstopped the Spitfires to a Memorial Cup title in 2017 winning the Hap Emms Memorial Trophy as the top goalie going 4-0during the tournament.

Most recently, DiPietro was the third goalie for Team Canada at the 2018 IIHF World Hockey Championship, though he did not see any playing time behind Curtis McElhinney and Darcy Kuemper.

TheCanucksselected the 18-year-old netminderwith their 3rd-round pick (No. 64 overall) at the 2017NHLDraft in Chicago.
