Wheatley, Erieau harbours get federal funding for upgrades

The federal government is investing$1.6 million in small craft harbours in Ontario.

The harbours include ones in Wheatley and Erieau.

It's not known how much of the $1.6 million each harbour will receive.

Chatham-Kent-Essex MP Dave Van Kesteren made the announcement Tuesday morning.

Maintenance dredging will be done at the Wheatley harbour.

There will also be a study to find a long-term solution to low water levels there.

InErieau, the wharf will be repaired.
