The Windsor police tactical team was brought into an east-end neighbourhood toarrest a man with outstanding warrants Tuesday.

"There was an outstanding warrantand considering this man's history, the tactical team was needed," Const. Andrew Drouillard of the Windsor police said.

Drouillard said he did not know what specific warrantwasoutstanding and did not provide additional details on why it was necessary for the tactical team to respond.

Officers surrounded the home, in the 1600 block of Clover Avenue, around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to neighbours. Police cleared out about two hours later.

"We know you're inside, this is the Windsor police tactical team and we're not leaving," an officer said into a loudspeaker during the wait.

Three men and a woman appeared to have exited the house and surrendered to police shortly after noon, according to CBC Windsor's Shaun Malley, who was on scene.
