Al Gore's new book to present climate-change solutions

Al Gore's book of solutions to the problem of climate change, a follow-up to his bestseller An Inconvenient Truth, will be released Nov. 3, publisher Rodale saidTuesday.

The book,called Our Choice, gathers the results of more than 30 "solutions summits" with scientists, engineers and policy experts that the former U.S. vice-president has held over the last three years.

The book explains how efforts to tackle climate change can be part of policies that create jobs and stimulate the economy.

Gore's influential book An Inconvenient Truth was accompanied by a documentary filmthat was shown around the world and won an Academy Award.

"An Inconvenient Truth reached millions of people with the message that the climate crisis is threatening the future of human civilization and that it must and can be solved," Gore said in arelease.

"Now that the need for urgent action is even clearer with the alarming new findings of the last three years, it is time for a comprehensive global plan that actually solves the climate crisis. Our Choice will answer that call."

Gore first announced a follow-up book two years ago, saying the title would be The Path to Survival. This is the same project but under a different name.

Proceeds from sales of the book will be donated to Gore's advocacy group, Alliance for Climate Protection. Rodale says it will print the book on 100 per cent recycled paper.
