British soul singer Amy Winehouse caused a minor commotion in a London court Friday, where her husband appeared to face charges of assault and conspiracy.

The 24-year-old British singer-songwriter her newly platinum-blond hair looking bedraggled came to her husband's support at the hearing, blowing kisses before yelling out: "I love you handsome, gorgeous one."

The troubled singer, who showed up close to the end of the session, whispered, "I love you," as he was led away.

Blake Fielder-Civil is accused of attacking a pub landlord and then later conspiring with him to withdraw as a witness at the trial.

Fielder-Civil, 25, has pleaded innocent to the charge of assault and is expected to plead Feb. 29 to a charge of perverting the course of justice. The landlord, James King, denied the conspiracy charge Friday.

Winehouse declared "I am not talking to you" to reporters gathered in the courtroom.

Though acclaimed for her music, the singer has been frequent tabloid fodder over the past year for her erratic behaviour and alleged battles with drug abuse.

Last month, she was photographed wandering outside her London home dressed only in a bra and jeans, with no shoes, looking distressed.
