Bullard moves to satellite, Stern to internet

Canadian comedian Mike Bullard has signed a one-year contract to host a weekday morning talk show on XM satellite radio.

Canadian comedian Mike Bullard has signed a one-year contract to host a weekday morning talk show on XM satellite radio, he announced Wednesday.

Bullard calls the show "uncensored," but unlike shock jock Howard Stern who is on the rival Sirius Satellite network, he will not bemaking jokesin poor taste.

He says he will apply his sharp wit to comedy routines and the show will include special guests and phone-in portions.

Mike Bullard Uncensored is to start next Monday on XM Canada's Laugh Attack channel. Toronto-based comedian Judy Croon will co-host.

Bullard was axed two years ago from Global TV's The Mike Bullard Show.

Stern, who was wooed to satellite radio with a $500-million US contract, is helping Sirius launch its online radio service next week with a free broadcast of his show.

His four-hour program will be available free on the internet on Oct. 25 and 26.

The Sirius internet service will offer 75 digital channels online for a monthly subscription fee of $12.95 US. No special receiver is required.
