Canadian quartet The Tenors to perform for Obamas in Washington

Canada's JunoAward-winning vocal groupThe Tenors, along with other musicians, will perform for the Obamas at the National Christmas Tree Lighting in Washington Thursday evening.

American actor Tom Hanks and his wife, actress and singer Rita Wilson, are hosting the 92nd annual national Christmas tree lighting ceremony that takes placeat the White House.

Veteran soul singer Patti LaBelle, R&B artistNe-Yo, pop group Fifth Harmony and others will also take the stage.

Performing for the First Family of the United States is just the latest honour for the quartet that consists ofToronto'sVictor Micallef, Vancouver's Fraser Walters, Port McNeill, B.C.'s Clifton Murray and St. Catharines, Ont.'sRemigio Pereira.

The young men sang at the opening ceremonies of 2010 Olympic Games inVancouver and for Queen Elizabethduring her Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Windsor Castle in 2013

The Tenors alsoenjoy considerablepopularity stateside, and have performed at a number of high profile gigs including withCelineDion on The Oprah Winfrey Show and at the 2011Emmy Awards inLosAngeles.

They're currently touring in support of their latest albumLead With Your Heart.
