Everything's Gone Green heads to commercial screens

Everything's Gone Green, the Paul Fox film set in Vancouver, will be released in cinemas in April after distribution deals were signed for Canada and the U.S.

Equinoxe Films of Montreal announced Monday it has bought Canadian rights to the film, which will be released April 20 in Toronto and Vancouver, followed by release in other cities.

Everything's Gone Green, from a script by Douglas Coupland, author of Generation X and JPod, is about a slacker tempted into a money-laundering scheme and struggling to find happiness.

It stars Paulo Costanzo, J.R. Bourne and Steph Song and is a loving portrait of Vancouver as itself.

Everything's Gone Green has its U.S. premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas, March 10 and then will open commercially across the U.S. April 13, distributed by First Independent Pictures.

A soundtrack from the film, featuring tracks by bands like the Fembots and Sloan, will be released by U.S. label Lakeshore Records.

The film won the Vancouver International Film Festival's Western Canada feature film award and the Edmonton International Film Festival's Canadian feature film award.
