Slain singer Christina Grimmie's funeral set for New Jersey

Funeral services for The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie will be held later this week near her New Jersey hometown, after the 22-year-old singer was shot to death last week when signing autographs after a show.

Funeral services for The VoicecontestantChristina Grimmie will be held later this week near her New Jersey hometown.

The 22-year-old singer was shot to death last week as she signed autographs after a show in Orlando.

Authorities say she apparently had no personal connection to the man who shot her and then fatally shot himself after being tackled by her brother.

A viewing will be held Friday at Fellowship Alliance Chapel in Medford. A memorial service will be held there Friday night.

Grimmiehad lived inEveshamTownship, a small community about 32 km from Philadelphia, before moving to Los Angeles in 2012.

Grimmie was a YouTube star who was widely known from her appearances on NBC's The Voicetwo years ago.

Earlier this week, her mentor on the TV singing competition, Maroon 5 pop starAdam Levine, offered to pay Grimmie's funeral expenses.
