Oasis, Foo Fighters headline Toronto's Virgin Festival

British band Oasis and American rockers the Foo Fighters will headline Toronto's two-day Virgin Festival this year.

Organizers announced a tentative lineup on Tuesday for the Sept. 6 to 7 festival, the third year it has run.

The Foo Fighters will close day one of the festival, while Oasis has the honour of being the last act on the second day.

Other big acts include Paul Weller, the Stereophonics, Bloc Party and Spiritualized.Canadian bands Wintersleep, the Weakerthans and the Constantines are also on this year's roster.

This year, the Virgin Festival will also be holding shows in Calgary, June 21 to 22nd, and in Vancouver, dates to be announced.

The rock festival, which originated in Britain and features high-profile rock acts, is backed by Virgin Mobile and its president Richard Branson.

The Toronto shows, always held at Toronto Island Park, have drawn more than 75,000 music lovers in the past two years.

Vancouver's first Virgin fest last year included My Chemical Romance and The Killers.

Tickets for the Toronto event go on sale March 29 with two-day tickets costing $159 and one-day tickets going for $87, both prices include the ferry fee.
