Personal items from Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds up for auction

Personal items that once belonged to Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, are up for auction this weekend in Los Angeles, after the two actresses died within a day of each other last December.

Sale includes Fisher's Star Wars script and her mother's family ranch

Personal items that once belongedto Carrie Fisher and her mother, Debbie Reynolds, are going on the auction block this weekend in Los Angeles,after the two actresses died within a day of each other last December.

The pieces range froman Empire Strikes Back annotatedscript that belongedto Fisher, who famously played Princess Leia, to her mother's former dance studio, which could fetch up to $8 million US.

Celebrity dance studio

Reynolds' dance studio, which opened in 1979, was used by celebrities such asLucille Ball, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bette Midler, Cher, Usher and Mariah Carey.

Carrie Fisher's personal Princess Leiascriptfrom Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Backfeatures handwritten notes. It's expected to go for between $30,000 and $50,000.

The title page on the inside of the book has a personal note from Star Wars director George Lucas: "For Carrie. Easy to say lines, George."

A dress worn by Audrey Hepburn during a memorable scene in the 1954 film Sabrina was acquired by Reynolds, who had a remarkable Hollywood memorabilia collection.

The auction, which started Saturday and ends on Monday, includes many autographed items including this one from Fisher. "Remember," it says,"as you get older, the pickings get slimmer but the people sure don't." Fisher, who was known for her clever writing, was the author of several books including the novel-turned-moviePostcards From The Edge.
