Police investigate Nickelback driving incident

Police inBritish Columbia have initiated an impaired driving investigation after Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger was pulled over last week.

SurreyRCMP officers made the announcement Thursday, revealing that the incident involving Kroeger happened on June 22.

According to Cpl. Roger Morrow, officers became suspicious of a moving vehicle and stopped the car without incident.

No charges have been laid. No further details were released and representatives for Kroeger had no comment.

Hailing from Hanna, Alta., but now based in Vancouver, Nickelback shot to the top of the national and international charts in 2001 with How You Remind Me, the first single off the band's hit third album, Silver Side Up.

The Juno Award-winning band's two subsequent albums, 2003's The Long Road and 2005's All the Right Reasons were also chart-toppers.

In February 2005, Nickelback was embroiled in a minor controversy when it announced that founding member Ryan Vikedal had left the band,while Vikedal claimed he had been pushed out. He was eventually replaced by former 3 Doors Down drummer Daniel Adair.
