Stranger Things season 2 arrives October 27

Things will "only get stranger" for the residents of Hawkins, Indiana, according to a sneak peek of Netflix'sStranger Thingsseason two.

Netflix announced Tuesday that the hit series will be returning on October 27. A short preview released on Twitter hinted at an ominous next season.

"Some doors can't be closed," read the tweet, possibly hinting at the door to"the upside down," where last seasonWill Byerswas held captive by a terrifying "demogorgon."

The series announced at this year's Super Bowl thatit would be coming back with asecond season.

Stranger Thingswas nominated for two Golden Globe awards this year, and took home the MTV Award for Show of the Year.

The success of the show has sparked the careers of its young cast members.

Millie BobbyBrown won theMTV Award for Best Actor in a Show for her performance as Eleven. Vancouver-born FinnWolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler, stars in the upcoming remake of Stephen King's horror classicIt. And Charlie Heaton, who plays outcast Jonathan Byers, recently starred in the Sundance dramaAs You Are.
