Winehouse, producer give up on James Bond theme

Producer Mark Ronson says he and singer Amy Winehouse have abandoned plans to record the theme to the newest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

Producer Mark Ronson says he and singer Amy Winehouse have abandoned plans to record the theme to the newest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace.

Ronson told Britain's Sky News on Friday the singer, who has had a public battle with drug abuse, is "not ready to record any music."

The producer was behind Winehouse's Grammy-winning Back to Black retro-soul album.

Ronson revealed the two had already begun work on the track but said it would take a "miracle of science" to finish it.

Winehouse was back in the news last week, whenpolice gave her a formal warning after she scuffled with two men during a rowdy night out at a London bar.

Newspapers in England have reportedthat she and Ronsonhad a falling out while recording the James Bond theme.

The Daily Mirror reported the singer had "other ideas" about how the song should be developed, citing a source close to Winehouse.

The news does not bode well for the movie, which hassuffered a series of bad incidents.

Two stunt drivers recently landed in hospital during filming in Italy one drove an Aston Martin into a lake while another was involved in a crash on setand had to have surgery.

While shooting in a remote, northernChilean town, the mayor of the municipality burst onto the set in protest, saying the producers had failed to get the proper permits.

Then, a shoot at the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru was scrapped in March because of bad weather.

Quantum of Solace, with British actor Daniel Craig reprising the role of secret agent 007, is set to unspool in theatres in November.
