The Internet thinks David Letterman looks like Santa Claus

David Letterman has transformed into a new, perhaps jollier-looking, man.

In photos that caught the attention of many fans of the former The Late Show host, 68-year-old Letterman grew a beard, lost some hair and developeda bit of a gut. According to CNN, the photos show himgoing on a jog while on a trip to St. Barts inthe Caribbean.

He's sported this look at least since November, judging by his appearance during a talk at his alma mater, Ball State University.

The rosie cheeks have been noticed by users as making him akin to another red-faced bringer of joy.

There were a couple other notable comparisons, too.

But for the most part, the Internet just seemed to be having a good time with Letterman's surprising retirement look.

Letterman retired from The Late Show in May 2015, replaced by comedian Stephan Colbert.
