Dwayne Johnson officiates surprise wedding for superfan Nick Mundy

Two years after meeting his childhood idol DwayneJohnson in what has been called the worst interview ever, superfanNick Mundy's dream came true when The Rock officiated his wedding in a surprise-slash-prank ceremony.

Mundy, part of the team behind film and entertainment site Screen Junkies, is a huge fan of The Rock. Obsessive, you might say.

So when he got the chance to interview him in 2013during a press junket for the film Pain &Gain, nothing was going to rob him of this opportunity even if he'd never done a press interview before in his life.

In the ensuing interview,Mundybabbles incoherently for several minutes while his idol politely stares and nods.A Paramount executive called Mundy'swork "the worst interviews I've ever seen."

That disaster, however, was comedy gold for Screen Junkies' YouTube audience. Mundy has gone on to interview Johnson on multiple film promotional tours, all of them including bizarre hijinks between the two.

In an interview for Furious 7, Mundycasually askedif Johnson couldbe the best man at his upcoming wedding.

While Johnson declined, he and the Screen Junkies team took that idea and spun it intothe prank of a lifetimeone with a fairytale ending.

Mundywastold that he wassupposed to pitch a comedic skit involving Johnson during a press tour for San Andreas. What he didn't know is that Rocky's PR team had been instructed to reject every idea he gavethem.

Johnson ordained to make it official

A frazzled Mundy later raninto Johnson, who was dressed in a tuxedo. He leadMundy into a room prepared for a wedding his weddingcomplete with his friends and family. Johnson said he wouldofficiate Mundy's wedding with his fiance, right at that moment.Johnson had been officially ordained by the state of California just for the occasion.

Mundy wore a look of shockas his friend quickly drapeda formal jacket over him. His fiance Dilara Karabas walkeddown the aisle. Johnson pronounced them man and wife. Mundy kissedthe bride.

"My first thought was, 'Oh shit, oh shit. I hope Dilara is cool with this,'" Mundy told The Hollywood Reporter. "The second one was, 'I have hat-hair, I'm sweating and wearing American flag pants.'

"The whole thing was insane," he said.

Karabasand her family spent months planning the surprise wedding with the Screen Junkies team and Johnson's publicists. Their marriage is indeed now official, but they still plan on having the ceremony they originally planned, this September.
