There were plenty of quippy sound bites delivered on stage during this year's Golden Globes ceremony, ranging from downright shocking to emotional and inspiring. From the winners to losers to the host and presenters, here's some of the most memorable sounds uttered out loud on Sunday evening.

From criticizing Bill Cosby to colonoscopies, no topic was off-limits

There were plenty of quippysoundbitesdelivered on stageduring this year's Golden Globes ceremony, ranging from downright shocking to emotional and inspiring.

The laid-back, free-wheeling spirit of the awards gala fuelled by its open bar led to several off-the-cuff remarks.

Here's some of the most memorable sounds uttered during Sunday's ceremony.

Gervais the crude

Comedian Ricky Gervais hosted the ceremony for a fourth time, repeating hisunapologetic, boundary-pushing, Hollywood-skewering brand of humour. He took shots at Sean Penn, Bill Cosby, Mel Gibson and yes, evenAdam Sandler's2015 box office flop, Pixels.

The comeback kid

Sylvester Stallonewon for best performance by an actor in a supporting role for his work inCreed. Stallone, who told the audience he hadn't been at the ceremony since 1977, took the moment to thank his boxing friend.

Born to act?

During her acceptance speech for best actress in a TV series, a noticeably stunnedLady Gaga revealed thatshe wanted to be an actress before she wanted to be a singer. She won the award for her performance inAmerican Horror Story:Hotel.

Don't play me off

Taraji P. Henson, who won an award for her work in Empire, spent much of her speechcomplainingabout the short timeallottedfor acceptance speeches. She continued to talk over top of the "play them off' music.

The return of Mel

Rowdy crowd
