Oscars 2016 nominations prompt concerns about snubs, white-washing

With The Revenant getting 12 Academy Award nods, The Martian director Ridley Scott and the film Carol both snubbed, and a lack of diversity nominees, Twitter had a lot to talk about when it came to the 2016 Oscar nominations, announced Thursday morning.

With The Revenant getting 12 Academy Award nods, The Martian director Ridley Scott and the film Carol both snubbed, and a lack of diversity nominees, Twitter had a lotto talk about when it came to the 2016 Oscar nominations, announced Thursday morning.

Pack leader The Revenant prompted plenty of jokes.

Despite being nominated six times, The RevenantstarLeonardoDiCapriohas yet to win an Oscar.

Fans were outraged that Carol, a film about a love affair between two women in 1950s New York, didn't receive a nod for best picture or best director.

Another perceived snub was The Martian director Ridley Scott's lack of nomination.
