After years of strong growth, China's economy is showing signs of slowing down. CBC's Catherine Mercier travelled to one of China's manufacturing centres to see the impact of the downturn.

After years of strong growth, China's economy is showing signs of slowing, because of several factors, including the eurozone debt crisis, weakening domestic demand and a slow economicrecovery in the United States.

In the first quarter, China's economic growth was at a nearly three-year low of 8.1 per cent.

For the mostly export-based economy, itmeans Chinese businesses are feeling the pinch.

CBC's Catherine Mercier travelled to one of China's manufacturing centres, Wenzhou,to see the impact of the downturn.
