A royal romance: Harry and Meghan in pictures

Harry and Meghan's relationship started in Canada, and the Queen confirmed Monday that that is where they will be returning, at least temporarily, as part of their plan to step back from their roles in the Royal Family.

After spending the Christmas holidays in Vancouver, Harry and Meghanvisited Canada House in London to offer thanks for the hospitality and support they received during their recent stay in Canada. The royal couple have indictated they will 'work to become financially independent' as part of a surprise announcement saying they wish 'to step back' as senior members of the royal family.The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to say exactly where they intend to spend their time, but they've given strong indications that it will be in Canada.

WhilePrince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle had been photographed together and acknowledged their relationship, theyfirst appeared together at an official event in Torontoduring the Invictus Games on Sept. 25, 2017.

Fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski photographed Harry and Meghan for their engagement in December 2017. Lubomirski, a former assistant to Mario Testino, famed for his photos of Harry's mother Diana, Princess of Wales, took the pictures at the royal retreatof Frogmore House, near Windsor Castle.

Harry and Meghan were wed in Windsor on May 19, 2018. Queen Elizabeth gave them the titles of Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Harry and Meghan arrived in Sydney for a 16-day tour of Australia and the South Pacific, on Oct.16, 2018, just hours before Kensington Palace announced that the royal couple are expecting their first child.The pregnant Duchess of Sussex had her schedule cut back during their first majorroyal tour, which included more than 70 engagements in four countries.

Harry and Meghan's new Instagram account broke the Guinness World Record for fastest to reach one million followers when they made their foray onto the social media platform in April.
