Prince William and his wife, Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, have releasedtwo new photographs with their newborn son, Prince George.

Prince George was born July 22 in a London hospital. He is third in line to the throne afterPrinces Charles and William.

Byreleasinginformal photographs taken by Kate's father, the royal couple have opted to go against a more traditional photograph, even if it left some people wanting a better look at Prince George.

"They do like to do things in their own way and that is not a bad thing, but in this particular instance they may come in for a bit of flack over this," Joe Little, the managing director of Majesty magazine, told Reuters.

"People would have liked a better look at George and you can't see his face clearly. These are not much more than family snapshots and they are not of a professional standard," Little said.

The release of the photos came a day after Williamdescribedhis son as a"little bit of a rascal"during a television interview.

In an excerpt from his first official interview since the birth of George, William told CNNhis son and his wife are both doing well, adding that she is doing a "fantastic job."

"Hes a little bit of a rascal, lets put it that way," William said in his first official interview since his son's birth. "He either reminds me of my brother or me when I was youngerIm not sure but hes doing very well at the moment."

CNN plans to air the full interview on Sept. 15.
