The winning couple in CBC's Battle of the Blades competition will be crowned in Monday's final episode.

The show pairs former NHL players with well-known figure skaters. Three teams remain from the eight original pairs:

  • Shae-Lynn Bourne and Claude Lemieux.
  • Marie-France Dubreuil and Stphane Richer.
  • Jamie Sal and Craig Simpson.
The winning pair will receive a trophy and $100,000 for the charity of their choice.

Figure skating has long been stereotyped as a female-dominated sport, but Battle of the Blades got a few NHL players interested as they watched their former teammates compete.

Do you think bringing hockey players into figure skating will bring more boys to the sport?
