Easy Craft for Kids: Paper Plate Christmas Wreath

When I was a little girl, my mom taught Kindergarten, so it is no surprise that we did a lot of crafting around the holidays. I remember making tissue paper Christmas wreaths and proudly hanging them up for our guests to see. This year, I decided to make my own version with my little boys using paper plates. Here's what we came up with:

What you'll need:

• Green tissue paper cut into 1 inch squares
• Green paint and a paintbrush
• Pencil
• Paper plate
• Red pom poms
• White glue
• Ribbon
• Scissors

Directions:

1. Cut the centre out of the paper plate.
2. Have your child paint the wreath green, and allow to dry.
3. Have your child wrap a one inch square of tissue paper around the unsharpened end of a pencil, dip it in glue, and attached it to the plate. Continue this process until the entire surface of the wreath is covered.
4. Glue red pom pom "holly berries" onto the wreath.
5. Attach a bow at the bottom of the wreath.
6. Attach a ribbon hanger to the top of the wreath (optional).

That's it! Cute, right? My boys are really proud of their creations, and I can't wait to hang them up for our friends and family to admire.
