Reclaiming a name that was taken away

Inspired by Malcolm X, one Dene man takes back his Indigenous name.
(Deneze Nakehk'o)

Dneze Nakehk'o was born with the last name Antoine. As an adult, he learned that his family's name had been changed to Antoine in residential school. So Dneze went on a journey, inspired by civil rights activist Malcolm X, to discover his ancestors' Indigenous name and reclaim it for himself and his family.
