CBC Announces Changes to its Revenue Group

CBC today announced that Jack Tomik, general manager of the CBC Revenue Group, has made a decision to leave CBC. Alan Dark will lead the CBC Revenue Group going forward. The changes are effective immediately.

"Jack's time at CBC has covered an eventful period in our history, and throughout, his talents and experience have helped us to meet many financial challenges and positioned CBC and our Revenue Group well for the future," says Kirstine Stewart, executive vice president, CBC English Services. "We know that talented people like Jack often look for new challenges and wish him well in the next chapter of a long and storied career. I'd like to thank him for all that he's contributed over the last three years".

"It has been an honour to be associated for almost 3.5 years with the CBC and its iconic brands. Through challenging times, dedicated management and staff formed the CBC Revenue Group which has made a significant contribution, brought the Olympics home and has been recognized with many awards from the Canadian business community," says Jack Tomik, "the CBC is truly an important institution in Canada and I am proud of my contribution to its sustaining success".

With Tomik's departure Alan Dark will take the helm of CBC's Revenue Group.

"For more than a decade, Alan has been one of Canada's leading sales & marketing executives and since joining us in January of 2010, he has been an integral part of building a winning strategy that has seen CBC become one of Canada's top media players and one of Strategy Magazine's Brands of The Year," says Stewart. "I know that Alan is ready to lead the team that sets the industry standard for excellence, congratulations, Alan".

In addition to Dark's appointment, two other changes are being made to the structure of CBC's Revenue Group. Jeffrey Orridge, executive director CBC Sports Properties, will now report directly to Kirstine Stewart while Bob Kerr, Senior Director/ Licensing Division, will now report to Alan Dark.
