Winnipeg Jets forward Evander Kane was a healthy scratch before the teams game against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday night.

And now we may knowwhy.

Kane was kept out of the 3-2 overtime loss to the Canucks by head coach Paul Maurice because he wore a track suit to the arena, a violation ofthe clubs dress code, according to Gary Lawless of the Winnipeg Free Press.

Its the second time Maurice hasmade Kane a healthy scratch due to disciplinary reasons.

Kane has been playing injured for most of the season. Lawless sees the rift between Kane and Maurice playing out one of two ways.

If he accepts he made a mistake and is willing to move forward, well see him back in the lineup as early as Friday night, Lawless wrote. If hes miffed, and decides hed like to swat back at the organization, Kane does have a card to play. He can elect to shut it down and have surgery on an undisclosed injury.

Kane is in the middle of a six-year, $31.5 US contract that expires in 2018. The 23-year-old Vancouver native has scored 10 goals and added 12 assists in 37 games this season.
