CBC, AHL strike broadcast deal

CBC Sports and the American Hockey League announced a one-year broadcast agreement on Thursday.

CBC Sports and the American Hockey League announced a one-year broadcast agreement on Thursday.

CBC will televise 10 games throughout the upcoming 2010-11 season, featuring AHL teams affiliated with one of six Canadian NHL clubs on Sunday afternoons.

Binghamton at Toronto (Oct. 17, 1 p.m. ET).

Oklahoma City at Hamilton (Oct. 24, 1 p.m. ET).

Hamilton at Toronto (Nov. 21, 1 p.m. ET).

Toronto at Hamilton (Dec. 12, 1 p.m. ET).

Toronto at Abbotsford (Jan. 16, 2011, 2 p.m. ET).

Abbotsford at Manitoba (Jan. 23, 2011, 1 p.m. ET).

Manitoba at Toronto (Feb. 27, 2011, 1 p.m. ET).

Hamilton at Toronto (March 6, 2011, 1 p.m. ET).

Abbotsford at Manitoba (March 27, 2011, 1 p.m. ET).

Manitoba at Toronto (April 3, 2011, 1 p.m. ET).

"We're looking forward to featuring the stars of hockey's future with the AHL on CBC," said Scott Moore, executive director of CBC Sports and general manager of media sales and marketing.

All games will be streamed live and also available on-demand at CBCSports.ca.

The first puck drops on Oct. 17, at 1 p.m., as the Toronto Marlies host the Binghamton Senators, the top affiliates of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Ottawa Senators, respectively.

The Marlies are featured in seven games this season, with Hamilton and Manitoba each playing four times.
