CES: SanDisk unveils online, automatic flash drive back-up and recovery

By Chad Sapieha, Special to CBCNews.ca

LAS VEGAS - One of the more interesting items I found during my visit to the SanDisk exhibit was the Titanium Plus, a 4 gigabyte USB flash drive that can automatically upload a mirror image of the key's contents to a remote server every time it's popped into a web-connected PC.

The service runs discreetly in the background off an application loaded on the key itself, leaving no evidence of activity on the host PC.

The only catch: After your initial free six-month subscription to the service, you'll be charged $30 US per year.

After dealing with the loss of two flash drive keys and their associated data in three years, $30 is cheap insurance. Where do I get one?
