Missing 95-year-old woman with dementia located

Canmore RCMP say a missing 95-year-old woman has been located. The woman, who RCMP say has dementia, had gone missing from her downtown Canmore home around noon Sunday.

Police had asked all Canmore residents to check their properties every 30 minutes

Canmore RCMP say a missing 95-year-old woman has been located. 

The woman, who RCMP say has dementia, had gone missing from her downtown Canmore home around noon Sunday, RCMP said in a media release. She was later found in a local grocery store around 6 p.m. and has since been reunited with her family. 

Officers had previously asked all Canmore residents to thoroughly check their backyards and businesses every 30 minutes.

RCMP say Cochrane and Calgary Search and Rescue were instrumental in assisting police in their search throughout the day for the woman. 

 Canmore RCMP wish to thank the public for their assistance.
