Freezing rain warning over for Hamilton

Environment Canada issued a special weather statement,warning of possible 'brief freezing rain' in Hamilton Friday morning. The warning ended later in the morning, however.

UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the special weather statement for Hamilton.


Environment Canada issued a special weather statement,warning of possible "brief freezing rain"in Hamilton Friday morning.

Though rain continued into midday, the warning ended late morning.

The federal weather agency said earlier in the morningrain wascoming to southern Ontario, but it could begin as freezing rain as temperatures near the freezing mark.

"The threat of freezing rain should end by afternoon as temperatures rise above the freezing mark," Environment Canada said.

Environment Canada asked residents to practise caution as roads may be slippery.

A high of 7C is expected during the day and 9 C is expected tonight.
