The 2020 presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is like no other, and following the election results will be different this year too.

Biden entered Election Day with multiple paths to victory, while Trump, playing catch-up in a number of battleground states, had a narrower but still feasible road to clinch 270 Electoral College votes.

However, its entirely possible that a winner will not be known on election night because of how the coronavirus pandemic has altered voting. With more than 100 million Americans casting early ballots constraints on time and resources could slow ballot counting into potentially a weeks-long process.
