Being a beauty editor is a pretty tough job. My desk is constantly covered in packages containing the latest and greatest makeup, hair and skincare products that I get to try out before they even hit beauty counters. I kid, I kid...

All jokes aside, this year I've managed to experiment with hundreds of mascaras , lip balms , hair dryers, dry shampoos , nail polishes and eye creams. And my team happily joined in on the fun once my sensitive skin started to show signs of having enough.

From new innovations to cult classics, below are our Best In Beauty award winners for 2013. Tell us if any of these are your favorites.

(Products listed in clockwise from left to right)
