Bishop T.D. Jakes' new book Destiny: Step In Your Purpose is all about identifying your passion and following it to your rightful place in life. Jakes, who leads The Potter's House in Dallas, stopped by HuffPost Live on Monday and revealed the secret to finding one's greater purpose.

"I think if you can identify your passion, you can find your purpose -- [and] that your passions prewire you to be most effective working in a particular area," Jakes told host Marc Lamont Hill .

By following your interests, finding your path becomes much more simple, Jakes aded.

"And once you identify your passions and begin to understand, 'This is where I'm gifted. This is what gives me energy when I do it and lights my eyes up when I go about it.' Then to move in the area of your purpose puts you on a road to destiny," he said.
