Bobby Brown gets candid about the death of his daughter Bobbi Kristina in a new interview with Robin Roberts on "20/20."

Brown admits he and his late ex-wife, Whitney Houston, failed their daughter, who died at the age of 22 in July 2015 following an extensive hospitalization.

"We could have been better. We should have been better," Brown said in the interview, which airs on Tuesday .

Houston and her daughter died three years apart , but the similarities between their deaths were almost eerie. Like her mother, Bobbi Kristina was found in a bathtub and the medical examiner's report later determined that she died from a combination of immersion in water and drug intoxication .

Its not a mystery to me, Brown said. The same thing that happened to my daughter is what happened to Whitney."
