On the same day the National Rifle Association demanded access to guns be protected , a bevy of celebrities released a PSA urging lawmakers to put forth a substantive plan for increasing gun control.

Among the entertainers making appearances in the one-and-a-half minute ad for Demand a Plan are Jamie Foxx, Jason Bateman, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Carey Mulligan, Beyonce, Jeremy Renner, Amy Poehler, Jessica Alba, Rashida Jones, Aziz Ansari, John Legend, Nick Offerman, John Slattery, Selana Gomez, Jennifer Aniston, Jon Hamm, Chris Rock and Conan O'Brien.

As with many celebrity PSAs, each person says a few words that, taken as a whole, create a moving call to action. This particular video begins with the celebrities listing mass shootings, from Columbine to Virginia Tech. (Watch the whole PSA above.)

On Dec. 19, a number of celebrities and media figures took out a full-page ad in the New York Times , demanding action on gun control. The advertisement was signed by the likes of Lady Gaga and HuffPost's own Arianna Huffington.

A number of entertainers have been using their celebrity to push for more effective gun control legislation in the wake of the Dec. 14 shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. A gallery of tweets on the matter is available below. More information can be found at Demand a Plan's website .
