A young man in Tennessee lucked up after nearly losing an engagement ring in a blazing vehicle fire on Monday.

Myers Hart and his high school sweetheart, Brooklynn Stevens, were driving a rental car on Monday afternoon when they heard a loud pop.

Hart pulled over to the side of the road to inspect the vehicle when he realized the car was on fire.

There was a loud bang. I think the coolant reservoir blew and it shot the hood up and spewed fluid everywhere and then it went up in flames, Hart told WSMV News4 Nashville .

The couple made it out safely, along with Stevens best friend, who was also in the vehicle. But after escaping, Hart realized that the engagement ring he was hiding was still in the burning car.
